APJII Block porno and gambling sites on the Internet

Jakarta - Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) attest to perform filtering in cyberspace. It aims to reduce the negative content that are circulating on the internet.
To make that happen APJII that houses 250 internet provider will work with the Foundation Newsletters archipelago, namely by way of instilling the coating system on the internet DNS Nawala data traffic center in exchange APJII.

"This joint venture in an attempt to filter the unhealthy content, and this is not just a program in the month of fasting, but our commitment over the next few years," said Sammy Pangerapan, Chairman APJII.

Sammy further explained that the program of both parties that will last for 3 years for the first period. At this time each party will do evaulasi to decide the next step.

"It remains to be evaulasi first, but it will still continue," said Sammy at the JW Marriot Hotel, Jakarta.

With the implementation of the program then automatically users who want to refer to pornographic sites or gambling online sites will be transferred to other sites. This applies to the netter who use ISP services under the auspices of APJII.

Even so does not rule out the possibility still exists that the user can escape. Because APJII not require all users to use the filtering system.

"There are some companies that are reluctant to switch their DNS for security reasons. Just for the public service is obliged to use filters," said Sammy.

Using DNS Nawala predicted to reduce the circulation of negative content in cyberspace, it also has been made by Research In Motion (RIM) to perform filtering on the device BlackBery in Indonesia.
